PE:
Our PE sessions are on a Wednesday.
Children are expected to wear their PE kits all day for these sessions. As the days get colder it would be useful if your child’s P.E. kit could include a jumper and tracksuit bottoms as well as the usual t-shirt, shorts and trainers. Children should ensure that any long hair is tied back, no jewellery or watches are worn and earrings are removed for any PE sessions. If children need to remove their earrings during the school day, then they should be able to do this themselves.
Homework:
Your child had been provided with an CGP books for Reading, Maths and Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling. Each Friday a homework sheet will be uploaded onto Seesaw. On the sheet you will find differentiated spellings which we expect to be practised each day over the week. You will also find a homework task: this maybe an activity or a page to complete in one of the CGP books. We require a photograph of the homework to be uploaded onto Seesaw each week by the following Wednesday so that we can support any children as necessary. We will not be marking the books as the answers are in the back which you can use at home to support your child’s learning.
All homework and spellings will be given out on a Friday and should be uploaded by the following Wednesday. This allows us time to check and follow up on any misconceptions or difficulties.
As with every other year, we would encourage regular reading to occur at home ideally every day, but at least 5 times a week for about 30 minutes. It is your child’s responsibility to ensure their Reading Record is kept up to date. Whole class guided reading will take place every day.
We have sent home Times Table Rockstars passwords - knowing your times tables is an invaluable skill for maths, it comes into so many different areas. Please encourage your child to practise regularly so they become more fluent. At the moment we cannot give the children the same access to the Chrome books to access TTRS at school as we have done in previous years.
We are always happy to answer any queries that you may have but we would request that you use our class email addresses to contact us in the first instance.
